CHILDREN (4-11)

At Hope Church Sutton we want all children to feel fully part of the church as well as having age-specific teaching to help them know Jesus and live for him in their everyday lives. But our larger aim is not only to teach our children but to help to train our parents to teach their own children to be followers of Jesus, as they have the ultimate responsibility for them.

During our 10 am Sunday service we run groups for children aged 4-11 years old:

• Hope Kids (ages 4-7) [reception to year 2]

• Hope Juniors Movers (ages 7-9) [Year 3-4]

• Hope Juniors Shakers (ages 9-11) [Year 5-6]

During our 12 pm Sunday service we run groups  for children aged 7-11 years old:​

• Hope Juniors (ages 7-11) [Year 3-6]

We also run Hope Tots (ages 0-4) at the 10 am service  and Ignite (ages 11-14) at alternative 12pm services. You can read about their activities in the 'Toddler' and 'Youth' sections of this website.

Each week at our Sunday church services, the children start the service with the adults so they regularly get a flavour of an all-age church. After around 10 minutes they go out to their groups. Every couple of months we also have special all-age church services which are shorter and designed to engage the children as well as the adults.

Each of our Sunday children's groups will:

• Have age-specific Bible teaching which aims at both understanding and applying it to their everyday lives

• Sing child-friendly worship songs

• Play fun games and do interesting crafts

All children are welcome whether they are used to church children's groups or not!

We are careful to keep to government-recommended adult-to-child ratios in all of our children's groups. And all of our children's leaders have been fully DBS checked with the government's child protection regulation body and follow the Co-Mission Safeguarding Policy.
